I've been trying to keep an open mind and a positive attitude about the good things the Common Core offers. I do like the focus and integration they offer. After a day of trying to design frequent assessments for RTI for our entire corporation today, I was feeling quite discouraged. Some states are already incorporating these into DIBELS, etc., making kids and teachers look like failures--when, in fact, kids are reading better than ever.
